Israel Dudley, 25, is a student at Castleton University in Castleton, Vt. Dudley is a former Fresh Air child who visited his host family, the Dickersons in Bristol, Vermont, from the time he was 11 years old. When he was 21, after several years of working and going to college at night, his host mom, Deborah, invited Israel to move in with her family in Vermont and attend college full-time. Israel says that this decision to move to Vermont at the crossroads of his life made all the difference in his future. He is the first member of his family to attend college.
