It has been a real pleasure working with Curator Sherlock Terry and his team at Billings Farm & Museum in Woodstock, Vermont, to create my first solo museum photography exhibition, Our Working Lands, on view from January through June 2026. As the exhibition description notes: “Explore the connection between land, labor, and perspective. Through striking aerial imagery and intimate portraiture, the exhibition invites visitors to see Vermont’s working landscapes from a new point of view.”
I have been using drones to photograph Vermont’s working landscapes since 2017. With a background in photojournalism and editorial photography, portrait-making has long been central to my work. Bringing these two perspectives together—sweeping aerial views and intimate portraits—felt like a natural fit for this exhibition. Installed in an historic post-and-beam barn, the photographs are given space to breathe, allowing each image to speak for itself. I’m deeply grateful to all of the individuals who welcomed me into their lives and allowed me to make their portraits.
